I seem to be going through old loves or something. Gorillaz and now FFIX.

Yeah, Imma admit it, I'm a fremarant shipper. I loved their interaction in the game and I read a lot of fanfics in my day gahahaha. They have this whole "I hate you, I like you, you're my friend, but don't tell anybody" kind of stuff going on, and I love it. *laughs*

I LIKED THIS PAIRING SINCE I WAS ELEVEN. WEIRD, ISN'T IT?

Sad thing is, that this came about when I was trying to draw Tantalus. I'm still working on that, but I keep getting Cinna looking really ugly. Which might be okay, we'll see *laughs*

FFIX, my absolute favorite of the FFs and Freya remained one of my favorite characters. It's such a damn shame her interesting story and personality didn't get as much exposure I wished it had, but I agree, her interaction with Amarant was indeed striking from what little occured in the game.

Love the blue surrounding them, really adds a moody, if not romantic tone between the two. Imagine freaky pastry-faced human/rat babies...

Ditto on everything. I also kind of wish that Amarant was brought in earlier during the game, because they didn't give him enough time for his own personality/story to unfold. At least not with a nice pace.

I thought their friendship was cute, and there was a lot of moments when they'd be standing around each other talking instead of to the others; they were teamed up with each other for several missions, and I think that Freya is the only one that Amarant told his past to. I found that REALLY interesting, and my eleven year old mind worked it into a pairing. Which I still endorse. *laughs*

Oh yes, the scary babies. Though the question whether Amarant is even human himself comes into question... Just think. Lizard/Rats.

I noticed when it comes to the second half of the cast --Quina, Eiko, Amarant, and Freya, they were shoved off compare to the main four with Eiko being the most developed. Shame since Zidane, Steiner, Vivi, and Garnet truly had some of the most visually best character development in my years of playing the FF series and I wished the same could have applied for the rest.

What I loved about the way that they pulled off the characters in FFIX is that they were easier to empathize with than in the other FF series. It's like, they had their personalities, and you understood them, and when they changed, you could see it, ya know? I remember disliking Steiner for like...ever, and then suddenly, when his character started to develop, you saw that he didn't only care about his job but he cared about Dagger. I'm certain that if they'd taken their time with the other four, it would've been just as interesting. I think one of my favorite parts of the game was when you were in Cleyra and the story was about Freya. And then after that it's like "NOPE, NO MORE, MOVE ALONG." Which is why I sort of clung to the precious few character moments that they were given throughout the game.

Agreed 100%. The fact is, the characters in FFIX had...well, character. It was deliciously fun reading the dialogues; one of my absolute favorite is Garnet's princess speech that over time grew more casual as she grew exposed to the outside world. These characters are indeed so human compare to other FFs and it's the prime reason why it's my favorite FF. It's got character.

YES. That is IT. THAT is why it's my favorite Final Fantasy, and that's why I cared about what happened. When they make more FF's like that, you tell me. I haven't seen it much lately.

I'd like to, but I'm disillusioned with Square-Enix and have stopped caring for them for years ago (baring me playing KH2 and even then, I still perfer the more superior first KH).
