Description

This entire piece was shaded/colored with a mouse.

Now you might all say "Well, CG, now that you've done it and found out how difficult it is, you MUST have a new respect for all the great artists who can actually color really well with a mouse!"

My answer is, "No. In fact, I just hate all of you for being able to do this."

MR. STYLUS,COME BACK, PLEEEEEASE!!!

Anyway, this is a piece of fanart for Ben "Yahtzee" Croshaw's (probably best known for his video game review "Zero Punctuation") series of horror point and click games "The Chzo Mythos."

Croshaw's so fucking good at storytelling, it makes me jealous. Really jealous. The thing is that I knew him for his comedy and stuff, and then I played the games... there's not so much comedy in those, just a lot of freak out moments and a good storyline and script. Also, I got scared. *laughs* And it's 2D too. I am easily freaked out, but it's really good. (Here's his website: [link] )

ANYWAY, THIS IS JOHN DEFOE... The psychopathic, machete wielding, welding mask and leather apron wearing ghost murderer in the Chzo Mythos.

Spoilers, I guess.

Long story short, he was born the second of a set of twins, and his mother died at his birth. He was deformed and retarded, and his father, who hated him for "killing" his wife, locked him up in the basement. He raised his other son, though with a somewhat distant and judgmental air, pretty normally. Eventually, his son noticed the "boy living behind the kitchen door," and tried to ask his father about him, receiving nothing more than outright denial or anger from him.

On the anniversary of either his and his wife's marriage or her death (dont remember!!), Sir. Roderic Defoe (the father) went down into the basement and beat him within an inch of his life with a cursed African Idol. His brother found him and nursed him back to health just enough for John to break free of the basement and, unable to tell the difference between people thanks to his retardation, kill both his father and brother. He later died from the wounds inflicted by his father.

John still haunts the mansion within the African tribal idol, possessing anyone who touches the idol and murdering anyone he comes into contact with, wearing the same blacksmith's apron and welding mask he did when he killed his father and brother.

THAT'S THE GIST OF IT. Just my version of him, I guess. *laughs*

John DeFoe (c) Ben "Yahtzee" Croshaw

...I will probably draw one of the main character later.

The fifth Man who desired judgment was the Child, whose father held in his possession the carving of the Slave. The Prince came to him and was at once rightly pleased with what he found, for the house of the Child and his father already knew well the name of the King.
