GRAAARGH I KEEP COMING UP WIT MORE "STORY"
It makes me almost want to do a comic of this thing. But, again, like I said, Anthropomorphic cat rumrunners of the nineteen twenties has been done already. DUH. *laughs* Actually, I'm uncomfortable referring to these lines of pictures as Lackadaisy CATS. Let's call it The Drunken Jellicle Gang or something. IT IS NOW REFERRED TO AS DJG!
ANYHOW, this is Gus the Theatre Cat and the object of his admiration, Jelly.
The story is a bit different in that I would like to portray the two getting together other than already having a relationship (And yes, I know that people aren't sure whether or not Jelly is Gus's mate or his daughter or whatever, and listing how old he is and how he's way older than her, but WHATEVER to age differences).
Jelly is Munkustrap's aunt, and doesn't particularly like the whole illegal activity deal, but as family, allows it to happen, just doesn't participate in it. Gus is an out of work actor of Victorian age fame, as well as a close friend to Skimbleshanks.
The scene that popped into my head was Skimble really needing a drink and so dragging Gus over to the Jellicle Speakeasy. While drinking, Gus catches sight of Jellylorum, who is there to tell Munkustrap news about his mother Grizabella, who had left the family many years ago. He's immediately attracted to her, and ends up doing his best to impress her.
Jelly likes Gus, but I don't think she finally loves him back until he saves her after the entire Jellicle group ends up stuck in some bad business with Macavity. He's a lot older than her, but I guess loves find many forms? *laughs*
I love these two. NOW I'M OFF TO DRAW ONE OF SKIMBLE AND JENNY.
I noticed that I'm kind of drawing these in couple pairs. But then I remember that i drew one of Misto and Tugger together. HAHA.
