Stupid 14 Year Old Girl by Crispy-Gypsy Stupid 14 Year Old Girl by Crispy-Gypsy
Because paying attention during Illustration class critique sessions is for LOSERS. Also i'm an asshole

An accompanying piece for a song I wrote called "Stupid 14 year old girl" exploring how heartbreak can make someone a cliche'd idiot as opposed to an artist or a poet. As in, you wish you could express yourself beautifully, express the anger that you're feeling in a way that transcends the heartbreak itself...

...but then you end up expressing the usual shit you hear on pop radio and read in the diary of a preteen girl who just broke up with her first boyfriend and thinks it's the end of the world.

Not saying that that's a bad thing, because those sentiments are cliche because they're so common, but so frustrating sometimes!

I was stupid when I loved you,
And you're making me stupid even now when you're gone

Prompted by my personal experience.

You know, I felt just like that when I was 14, aahh... Good times...

:/ Well this makes me a little sad for the 14 year old girl now. Some people just ARENT poetic or artistic and can only express themselves in ways we're too familiar with so we call them cliche. In doing so, we kick dirt into an already bleeding wound. Stupid 14 year olds hurt just like everyone else.

I think I said in the Artist's Description that this happens to everyone, and the reason that these feelings are "cliche" is because they're common. I think I also said that it didn't mean that these feelings were bad, just frustrating.

It's not calling 14 year old girls stupid, per se, it's an act of aggression and anger because when one DOES want to be artistic and poetic, they find out that they CAN'T be. Anger and heartbreak create a reversion to a state where we're more naive, and more receptive and more dramatic. Saying "stupid 14 year old" is a fuckin reference to that, just a place holder name to a feeling.

There's no need to get upset. I was merely stating my opinion on a topic, it turns out this piece wasn't directly related to the topic the way I assumed. I never meant to accuse you of anything.

No, you just made an assumption on the topic. I'm not upset, I'm correcting you.

The use of "fucking" gave me the impression that you were mad, sorry.

Ugh, who hasn't been there? I've looked back on my journals and art when I was 14 and it makes me cringe a little lol.

I think that everyone must have that point in live, but then we grow up and.... well we still keep doing it, we're just much quieter about it. lol

Even though I have created some very good work while angsting, I kinda agree with this, though most of my angst has been because of family I had one to do with a bf and it was very dramatic and lame. I realize all that hurt I felt was really unnecessary, lol. XD

I hate how every time I've fallen for a guy, something happens so that I can't even tell them how I feel. All those crushes happened to be in high school for me. Most of the guys I had little crushes on would graduate and I'd never see them again, or they'd up and get girlfriends without warning and it'd stay that way. Either way, I was left in the dust and, I'll admit, I never dated anyone in high school. Ever. Wanted to, but I was (and is) a hopeless romantic, always having these manageable ideals for a relationship I'd want to have but I haven't been able to get it.
I have yet another crush now--but this time, it's not some immature high-school-minded boy. He's a few years older than me, but I feel like we're mentally on the same level. And he's the only guy that's ever made me feel special... He respects me as a young woman and not as "just some girl". I can only remain hopeful for him, because I feel like we absolutely match... But I suppose only time will tell.

So I sympathize with this piece, because I've always felt insecure about myself; I'd never be sure if a guy would ever like me back and all that. It's beautifully done, as always, my dear. Absolutely gorgeous...

I love this piece so much, everything about it is beautiful. The concept is so spot-on and everyone knows how teenage girls are so very melodramatic, which makes the idea even more relatable. The look on her face, and the notes on the walls (I'm sure EVERYONE had that written at least SOMEWHERE in their lifetime)

Instant fave :iconawwwplz:

A side-effect of love is stupidity in most cases, even when you know better.
