Ok let's see - we have an image hosted on a profile that is 1 day old and asks you to visit a website with a strange url with a promise of a financial reward on an another website. How do you even imagine that would work? And now, of course, people start crying that their computers got infected with malware. Which is great - every genius who fell for this obvious phishing scam deserved it. I hope your shitty computer burns and you along with it.

The trailer to "Equestria Girls" (the humanized MLP spinoff film) finally was released today. Aaaannnd everyone's freaking out. Again.
You know, it actually looks pretty decent. Bronies... please understand: I know you're a major unexpected demographic for the show. I know you enjoy seeing shout-out's become canon within the show, and appreciate how the creators do little things here and there for you. But... the show isn't made for you. This is not Cartoon Network and the target demographic isn't 25 year olds in college. You're a nice addition to the target demographic of little girls, but you are not the driving force behind MLP.
I don't want this to sound mean, but it needs to be said. This is where it becomes very important to understand the fine line between being a fan of the show and thinking that because you've invested so much energy into the show that you're entitled to things.
I'm sure the movie won't be as bad as everyone makes it out to be. It honest

Opinions are a Dangerous thing: Art StylesThis isn't about narking on anyone no, infact this is just my own muses really! You could say this is a journal for ENCOURAGEMENT! *SHINES*
I find sticking to one style restrictive if you are a beginning/moderate artist! (even professionals I might say! though I can't speak for everyone)
Having a distinctive look on how your art is done and produced is understandable and its a desire to appear unique to the point some one can just SEE your work and instantly think 'Oh! that's Ten-days!' or something along the line. However, when you are trying to find who you are and what kind of art you are to produce, I recommend trying, well, a lot of different things! Different styles, mixing styles, different colouring techinque, brushes, tools, shading. Don't feel dependant on what you are already doing and don't feel pressured by people just for trying new things!
Push out of your comfort zone. Can't draw hands? don't avoid it! draw the heck out of them! (how else are you going to learn?)

Yup. I'm holding one. Because why not? You know that I am well obsessed with something if I end up holding a contest for it.

You all know that I ship this like crazy pants, maybe more than anything else because it was such a part of my childhood that it's harder to shake off than most other things. I have been shipping this for twelve years. How sad is that?

There's still one site that's still up, I think. I replayed the game recently, so I went through (am going through?) a resurgence of my old OTP, and I checked. Not too much has developed since the first time I wandered through the fandom, sadly.

Though maybe that is why I am doing so much drawing/small ficlets of them, I am being a jerk and trying to squeeze out a little more.

Anyroad, Athanasia was one of my favorites when I was a kid (It is so WEIRD thinking about how that was TEN YEARS AGO), and I remember trying to do a comic of it that failed horribly because I couldn't draw back then. Thanks for writing it, anyroad. :3

Definitely liking seeing your new stuff! Especially since it's just so canon-looking and all. I liked a lot of the fanart I found then, probably still have it saved on the computer somewhere, but a lot of them did seem to have Freya as human with big ol' ears, or Amarant as way too pretty, which, well...just isn't them.

Yeah, I think that was one of the problems with it being generally an anime fanbase, since Final Fantasy IX wanders a bit away from the typical Nomura prettiness into something dangling on the corner of cartoon. Which is why I always liked it. I don't blame them comepletely because Freya and Amarant are a bit difficult to draw when you're used to just drawing pretty humans all the time... but I was always slightly bothered with pretty!Amarant because if there's anything that Amarant isn't, it's an angsting bishounen. Or maybe I'm just a jerk that feels that Amarant's "ugliness" is a big part of his character.

Though the thought of a VincentValentine!Amarant is hilarious. I should do a "if Nomura designed FFIX" picture of of Amarant being bishie and Freya lookin like Fran or something, high heels and skimpy outfits and all.

Anyroad, yeah, Athanasia was always one of the ones I went back to as a kid (and reread a month or so ago when the game came back into my consciousness). Maybe one of these days I will do proper fan art of it. An ode to the days before I wore proper bras.

Yeah, it did have its own style to it - but that was one of the reasons I liked it, too. It was a very interesting world, even if I could think of no reason (besides A Wizard Did It) that Treno would always be in nighttime. I have good memories of playing it with my sister on breaks home from school.
